Licencing Authority
The District Transport Officer’s of various districts is the

Age Limit
For applying for a licence one must be 18 (eighteen) years
of age and for driving a transport vehicle one must be 21 (twenty one) years of
age. But a person attaining the age of 16 (sixteen) years can drive a motor
cycle with engine capacity not exceeding 50CC in a public place
LEARNERS LICENCE:
A person must apply for Learners license first to drive a
motor vehicle. The applicant need to apply for Learners license to the
Licensing Authority of their jurisdiction where the applicant resides. The LL
is valid for 6 months period. It is temporary and issued to the applicant to

An application can be made in form No. 2 which can be
submitted to the jurisdictional Licensing Authority or District Transport

vehicle Inspector. The test is based on traffic signals, road signs,
rules and regulations. After passing the test, the LL shall be issued to the

the test in case of addition of new class of vehicle.
DRIVING LICENCE:
The applicant will be issued permanent Driving License only
if he/she holding a Learners License. After the 30 days and before 180 days of

RENEWAL OF DRIVING LICENCE:
After the expiry of Driving License, it can be renewed. The
applicant need to apply for renewal of license within 30 days of expiry
of permanent driving license.
