Step 1: First, install the SBI YONO application from the Play Store or iOS store.

Step 2: Next, open the application and Select existing customer.

Step 3: Next, click on Login using Internet Banking ID.

Step 4: On the next page, you will be asked, DO you have SBI Internet Banking ID?  to confirm tap Yes.

Step 5: On the Registration page, enter your User Name, Password and Referral code (Optional) and Submit.

Step 6: Now to set the MPIN, select the checkbox and tap Next.

Step 7: On the new screen, set 6-digits MPIN of your choice for your account and tap Next.

Step 8: You will receive OTP on your bank registered mobile number, enter OTP and tap Next.

What is the CIF number? 

The abbreviation CIF stands for Customer Identification File. This is unique for each and every customer of a bank. It contains valuable information about the account holder/customer in a digital format.

A CIF number has the following specifications-
  

  • It is a virtual file having all the banking information of the customer. 
  • It is an 11 digit number that represents the digital file. 
  • All the accounts belonging to a customer are linked to one unique CIF number assigned to the customer. 
  • The bank decodes the CIF number if it wants to retrieve any information (personal and financial) pertaining to the customer. The CIF helps the bank to view all information related to a customer in one single place. 
  • This file includes details related to loans and Demat accounts availed by the customer. It also includes his KYC details such as address details, identity information, and a photo identity proof.

However, in some cases, the SBI CIF number is not printed on the passbook. Then, you need to look for other alternative methods to know your CIF number.

3.CIF number through your E-mail

Even if you do not have an online SBI net banking account, you can still get your CIF using your Email ID. For this, you should register your email ID with the bank and attach it with your SBI account. Then, you need to send an SMS from your registered mobile number, requesting the Bank to send you the e-statement. Upon receiving the request, the SBI will send the e-statement to your email ID. You can download the PDF file and view your CIF number in the e-statement easily.

4.Call the SBI Customer Care Number

An SBI customer Care can call the customer care number anytime. He will be asked to verify certain details. After the verification is done, he can ask for his CIF number. The toll-free numbers of the SBI customer support are- 1800 425 3800, 080-26599990, and 1800 11 2211.

5.Visit your SBI Branch

You can visit your SBI branch or any nearest SBI branch and ask for your CIF number from the branch counter. You need to provide your SBI account number and the help desk executive will tell you your SBI CIF number. Customers can even download the bank statement of all accounts they hold with SBI. It helps to save a lot of time and energy, required to visit the bank branch or ATM.

Follow these steps to view the bank statement online on the SBI's online portal -

1. Go to onlinesbi.com in your chosen browser. Click on Login within 'personal banking'. Proceed with a click on 'Continue to Login'.

2. Type username and login password on the next page. Using virtual keyword is recommended for security reasons. The keyboard is enabled when clicked on it. Customers can enter the password by clicking on the alphabets, numbers and special characters, which form the password. Click the login button after entering the details.

3. This will enable the customer to log in to his/her account. It will direct you to  'my account & profile' tab. One can view the SBI bank statement format. Go to 'Click here to see balance' to view the transactions. 

4. The last 10 transactions also can be viewed by clicking on 'Click here for last 10 transactions'.

5. To view the bank statement, click on  'Account Statement' towards the left side of the webpage. Select the bank account of which you want to see the bank statement. The bank account will be selected by default if you have only one account. The  Bank statement will be generated for the time period as selected. Account statements can be viewed for 6 months at one go.  

6. In the page, the 'View' option gets selected by default. You can select the period for which you want to see the account statement. Press on the 'Go' button to view the bank statement of SBI. You can get a bank statement for a specific month or months of any year by selecting 'By Month' or specifying the time period. It also gives you the option of 'Printing'. 

7. The SBI bank statement can also be downloaded in Excel and PDF formats. To download it, first select the period and the format. Click on 'Go' button.

SBI provides few other options, to view account statement, even without using net banking.

In an endeavor to provide an effortless service to its customers, the bank has launched SBI Quick. With just one missed call or SMS to a given number, customers can access their bank statement, all the recent transactions, and mini statement on the registered mobile number of the account holder. 

Missed Call Banking Feature from SBI Quick allows consumers to just give a missed call to inquire about their balance.
