Xiaomi has been dropping new information about the upcoming Redmi 6 series regularly, and the latest reveals that the devices will be exclusively available on Amazon India. The e-commerce giant has dedicated a page for the Redmi 6 series launch, and the poster on the page reveals that two phones will be exclusive to Amazon. This could mean that the third variant may be a Flipkart exclusive, or even be available offline. Looking back at the Redmi 6 series predecessors, the Redmi 5 is available via Amazon, while Redmi 5A is on Flipkart.

Xiaomi’s latest Redmi 6 series smartphones are all set to be launched in India tomorrow. Ahead of the launch event, Amazon.in has revealed that two of the three Redmi 6 series smartphones will be Amazon-exclusives in the country. According to our source, the Redmi 6 will be launched in India as Flipkart-exclusive, which means the Redmi 6 Pro and Redmi 6A will be available exclusively on Amazon.in

Xiaomi Redmi 6, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi 6A: Expected price in India

Redmi 6 3GB RAM+32GB storage model price in China starts at CNY 799, which is around Rs 8,400 on conversion. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option costs CNY 999 (around Rs 10,400). Redmi 6A was announced in China for CNY 599, which is around Rs 6,300. This price is for the 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant.
The higher-end Redmi 6 Pro, which also comes with a notched display, has a starting price of CNY 999 (around Rs 10,400) in China for the 3GB RAM+ 32GB storage model. The 4GB RAM+32GB storage variant and 4GB RAM+64GB storage models are priced at CNY 1,199 (around Rs 12,500) and CNY 1,299 (around Rs 13,600) respectively.

The Redmi 6 Pro is Xiaomi’s most affordable smartphone with a notched display. It sports a 5.84-inch 1080 x 2280 Full HD+ resolution IPS LCD display with 1500:1 contrast ratio and a 19:9 aspect ratio. It runs on a 14nm octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2.0 GHz with an Adreno 506 GPU. The smartphone is available in three configurations – 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. Unlike the Redmi 6, the Redmi 6 Pro comes with a dedicated microSD card slot for further expansion up to 256GB.


In terms of optics, the Redmi 6 Pro features a 12MP + 5MP AI dual-camera setup at the rear and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, 4G VoLTE, and an IR blaster. Rest of the highlights include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, AI Face Unlock, and a 4000mAh capacity battery.
